What was the inspiration for your new kitchen?
My inspiration was to get rid of my horrible dark, dark, 90s kitchen. Every time I walked in there, it just felt so closed-in and dark. And it's a very unique kitchen, first of all, and it's got a very interesting shape to it. And every time I'd walk in there, I would just see these gold, dark tiles, and I felt trapped. It just appeared so dark and so dreary all the time, and it just wasn't uplifting, which is important to me as an artist. It also didn't fit the aesthetic of the other parts of my home. That's pretty much what inspired me to change it.
“I wanted the kitchen to kind of match the same aesthetic, where it felt more sophisticated.”
How does your art influence your home design?
So, I've been painting for seems like forever, you know – probably close to 16-17 years. And it's been an interesting journey. I started a lot with colors, bright colors, bright pops of color, which I still do have available on my website JenRamos.com. And then I actually transitioned into a more neutral palette and started to work on raw canvas, which I really love, and that really reflects my style now. And you know, I just started feeling more sophisticated in my expression
I wanted the kitchen to kind of match the same aesthetic, where it felt more sophisticated. And I wanted it to be more modern, right. And I wanted to elevate the space. I think it’s important as a creative to set up your space and your environment to inspire and inform your work.

What do you love about your FORM Kitchen?
I love how spacious and very flowy it feels. I love the fact that the cabinets are soft-close – that you can just let them go. And I really just like the functionality. I love the drawers, the big drawers where I can put the pots in and it's just easy like just to open them out and just like put the pots in there. And they’re just really spacious. I love that. It feels like everything has a place and purpose, and they’re just stunningly gorgeous.
“I was hesitant about IKEA because I was not sure that their cabinets were the best quality.”
Why did you choose FORM?
I was considering IKEA first, for the price point. But I was hesitant about IKEA because I was not sure that their cabinets were the best quality – I just didn't know. And they didn't do these corner cabinets, which were essential with my layout. So I kept looking and then I came across FORM and I did a little investigation and your prices were so much more affordable than what I had thought. And I got really excited. I also loved the free design support and the customer service. Everyone was very quick to respond to all of my requests. I also just loved what I saw on Instagram.
